Blossburg Improvement Association was formed in 1971 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the goal of building the Riverside Plaza. After completing this project, BIA has focused on enabling continued access to important local services such as a grocery store, pharmacy, and post office. The funds raised by the organization through rental income go back into maintenance of the portion of store fronts in the plaza still owned by BIA, maintenance of the plaza as a whole, new capital projects for the plaza such as the recent facade overhaul, and contributing funding to other important projects in Blossburg.
