2026 Update

6/11/2026 – Blossburg, PA Borough Pool Update – The Blossburg Borough Council, in consultation with the Blossburg Borough Manager and Blossburg Recreation Board undertook a careful review of the current Pool House project status and projected timeline to completion.

After review, the Blossburg Borough Council voted at the 6/10/2026 Borough Council meeting to keep the Blossburg Pool closed for the 2026 season.

Everyone involved would have preferred to have been able to open the pool for at least some amount of time during the 2026 season, but the estimated timeline to completion is at the point where any delay would push it over the edge for opening. It will better serve the community in the long run and those involved in the current construction to stay closed for the season.

This action allows the project to continue to focus on quality of construction and building a Pool House that meets the needs of the Community. In light of this change, the Borough and Recreation Board are reviewing additional opportunities to bring in 2027 Pool planned maintenance to 2026.

The original plan called for an early close of the Pool in 2025 for demolition of the existing pool house then building of the exterior block walls and installation of the roof in the fall. Next, the space would have been temporarily sealed so work could continue on the interior, with exterior work continuing in the spring. These items were delayed due to bad weather in the fall and an early winter that prevented the exterior walls and roof from being completed.
