Borough Council Meeting continued from April 19, 2004 - Reconvened April 26, 2004 at 6:30 P.M. in the in the Council Room of the Borough Building, 245 Main Street, Blossburg, PA.

Attendance: President Jerome Ogden; Vice-President Tonya McNamara; Councilmembers Raymond Kaminski, James Holleman, Cheryl Bubacz, (absent, Timothy Roupp and Thomas Bogaczyk); Mayor John Backman; Borough Solicitor Patrick Barrett; Borough Manager George D. Lloyd; Borough Secretary Mary Signor.

Opening of Bids for Old Ambulance Building:

One bid was received:
Douglas Matthews, Covington, PA, 16917 in the amount of $28,500.00

All documents were in order as required. Motion not to accept bid of Douglas Matthews of $28,500.00 and re-advertise sale of Old Ambulance Building was made by Raymond Kaminski; second, James Holleman. All in favor.

Borough Manager George Lloyd stated he thought some bids didn't arrive as expected. Since Douglas Matthews bid was too low - the Borough Solicitor Patrick Barrett is to re-advertise the Old Ambulance Building.

Electric System Assessment for the Borough of Blossburg:

Borough Solicitor Patrick Barrett submitted a preliminary report from Quad 3 Group. Mr. Barrett will review and ask for additional information if needed so final report can be made.

Dollar General Survey:

Approximately 36 Sq. Ft. of building in Blossburg Borough right-of-way. A motion authorizing the Borough Solicitor to prepare the necessary documents and advertise the necessary ordinances to exchange a portion of the right-of-way on Hanibal Street with Blossburg DG Partners LLC in return for sewer easements and deed of easement for Mill Street made by Tonya McNamara; second, Cheryl Bubacz.

Reese Lane Emergency Exit:

George Lloyd brought up request from Mike Getgen about installing driveway from his property on Reese Lane onto the Fire Company property so he could use Fire Company bridge across Bear Creek instead of using an existing bridge on Reese Lane, which is in bad shape. Council stated that Mr. Getgen should approach the Fire Department & Ambulance Association about access. Council does not have to give their permission. Mr. Lloyd will contact Mr. Getgen.
