Congratulations to Nate and Kelly McNamara! They were married on June 30th in the Bahamas. We wish you a wonderful future together.

Several people in Blossburg are celebrating birthdays this week. Corey Onks and Carol Borden mark another year on July 16. Ashley Beckett has a birthday on July 19, and Chase Onks' special day is July 20.

The Southern Tioga School District Board will be meeting on July 15 in the Liberty High School auditorium. At this meeting, information about the building proprosals will be available.

The Blossburg swimming pool at Island Park has been the scene of much fun, with kids splashing away their summer vacation. You can have a part in the renovation project by purchasing a "Bloss Pool" towel for $15. Get your towel at the pool, the Boro office, or by calling 638-2894.

Don't miss "Under the Lentil," a Hamilton-Gibson one-man play starring and written by Thomas Putnam. Tickets are available at the Blossburg Memorial Library, through Hamilton-Gibson, and at the Nickerson Construction office (south of Blossburg on old Route 15, just before the road to Arnot). The cost is $25 couple/$15 single; proceeds benefit the Blossburg Memorial Library.

The Blossburg Farmers' Market is open every Saturday at Riverside Plaza, from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. One customer stated that she bought two flats of lovely bedding flowers for a great price last week. Come to Riverside Plaza and see what bargains you can find.

Studio B (next to the Acorn) is offering a "Summer Slim Down Power Hour." We will be providing a weight tracker plus a new food journal so you can record your success. The summer Slim down Class will offer stretching, toning, circuit training, and cardio workouts to optimize your health plan for the summer. No previous experience necessary. Classes are taught by Certified Personal Trainer and Mixed Martial Arts Expert, Rob smith. The class will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30, beginning July 6 and ending August 24. Fridays will be offered as a Free Day from 5:30 to 6:30 for those individuals who would like a little ‘extra’. Feel free to jump in at any time! The Blossburg Memorial Library will be enjoying its annual Garden Party at the Hamilton Club in Morris Run on Sunday, July 26 from 1:00 until 4:00. There will be garden tours and music by Bob Dunham. Come and enjoy a relaxing day with friends. Some of the delicious choices on the menu are Tortilla Roll-ups, Stuffed Mushrooms, Ham and Spinach Quiche, Pork Wonton Cups, Mozzarella Bruschetta, Chicken Kebabs and many more. For tickets ($15.00 Single or $25.00 per couple) call 638-2197 or 638-2295.

On July 19 at 4:00 PM, there will be a planning meeting for the 21st Annual Blossburg & North Penn High School Reunion, in the NPHS library. With the event just a couple of weeks away, this will be an important meeting. Alumni who graduated from or attended the Blossburg school are encouraged to come to the gathering on August 1. Members of the classes that end in "4" and "9" will be specially recognized. Make sure the Alumni Association has your current mailing address by visiting http://www.blossburg.org/alumni. Mark "yes" if you would like your name added to the alumni directory.

The number of items being submitted for the Blossburg News & Views has been increasing. It's very encouraging to receive items from the community.
